About the blog

It's a simple math problem. The average age of a credit union member is 10 years older than the average age of a North American. If credit unions do not reverse the trend and attract the next generation of credit union members, the future doesn't look so bright.

The Why Gen Y Blog has a simple mission: to equip credit union executives and marketers with relevant information that will help them succeed in attracting and retaining new Generation Y members.

Don't be a fool, it's time to vote!

Our Lookin' Like a Fool With Your Money in a Bank Music Video Contest has been a rousing success so far. Truth be told, we thought we might get a handful of silly entries, but to get 14 fabulous and creative entries is incredible. The amount of effort and talent shown is awesome. We have enjoyed watching all of them and we love the pro credit union sentiment! Thanks to each of you for putting your heart into your entries and good luck with the voting.

For those that have not seen the entries yet, here they are!

01 Matt Davis
02 Matthew Hawkins
03 Evan White
04 Cody Strawn
05 The Disclosures
06 K-Dawg & Lil'K
07 Bryson Baham
08 James Robert Lay
09 Alex Sellen
10 Sky Bennett
11 Amy McGraw
12 Sophia & Co.
13 James Robert Lay
14 Casandra

One clarification that needs to be made. Since James Robert Lay entered twice and the second entry was a remix of the first entry, we have decided to include James Robert only once on the ballot. This will eliminate confusion and will also limit the potential that his votes would be split. We hope this is agreeable to all entrants.

To keep things fair, you can only vote once. Voting will be open until Wednesday, March 17. Only one vote will be counted per legitimate e-mail address. We have measures in place to ensure that the voting is fair.

For our entrants, now's the time to rally your supporters and get them voting. The winners will be named on the Why Gen Y Live show on Thursday, March 18.

Tim
