About the blog

It's a simple math problem. The average age of a credit union member is 10 years older than the average age of a North American. If credit unions do not reverse the trend and attract the next generation of credit union members, the future doesn't look so bright.

The Why Gen Y Blog has a simple mission: to equip credit union executives and marketers with relevant information that will help them succeed in attracting and retaining new Generation Y members.

The Votes Are In!

Earlier today on Why Gen Y Live we announced the winners of the "Lookin Like A Fool With Your Money In A Bank" competition!

Annnnnnd the winners are....!

Fifth Place, $50 Gift Card - Sophia and Co.!

Fourth Place, $50 Gift Card - Casandra

Third Place, $100 Gift Card - The Disclosures

Second Place, iPod Touch - James Robert Lay

First Place, iPad - Amy McGraw

During the show, we announced that every single person who entered would be receiving a $25 gift card! During the competition, all of the videos together garnered over 14,000 views! We had over 3,000 votes and almost 100 people watched as we revealed the winner!

These numbers, of course, don't include the people who were introduced to credit unions and/or moved their money from a bank to a CU because of this project. Thanks for all of the help, submissions, comments and tweets!

DeAndre
